Reflections on Bible verses

Matthew 5:4
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Sermon of the Mount

Words of a Wise Man    -    Peace in Sorrow

Jim just lost his grandson & son-in-law in the same day.
I spoke with him after the funeral and asked him if he blames God.
His words were this:
“They were always God's children.. God just let us enjoy them for a short time”.
I asked him if he was bitter…
His words were this:
“Not at all.. I love My Lord…. My Lord giveth and he takes away, who are we to ask why ...
we will all be together one day, real soon, thanks to Jesus Christ”.
Just like in the book of Job in the Bible, God will allow us to go through trials and tribulations
in our life, but he is right there holding our hand.

I wiped his tear away.. he smiled.

Ecclesiastes 3
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

Galatians 2:20 (NIV)
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave himself for me.

Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth...

I want to share a story with you about my Gram..
Gramma’s kitchen always seemed like a safe haven… an secret hiding place to go, to feel at home. Her home was a glimpse of what our true home will feel like… what she is feeling right now …
Her permanent home…

GRANDMA’S HEART'S DESIRE IN LIFE WAS TO SERVE THE LORD

Do you know what B.I.B.L.E. stands for??? Gramma did… B.I.B.L.E. stands for

B*asic *Instructions B*efore *Leaving E*arth…

She *lived the Bible, never judging others… she loved unconditionally to all.. her favorite saying is “God loves everyone, so you do the same”. I can hear her saying it now. She had compassion… showed kindness & peace… was gentle & comforting to all, at all times… she was patient in all circumstances… accepting of all & forgiving of all.. and she ADORES her Savior Jesus Christ. She
drew strength, wisdom, and her selflessness from HIM. What more can a person want from life ... she TRULY was the richest person I knew. I only pray that each & everyone of us can take one
thing from her and apply it in their lives daily, & like the movie “Pay it Forward”. Gram’s sole
purpose & heart's desire is that we would all be together again one day … and we can be,
if we took those little seeds that she planted in our hearts … nourish it & let it grow into what
your purpose here on earth was intended to be.

She was the perfect model of GOD’S LOVE & what we are to be. Open the eyes of your heart. It is the little things in life that we can take with us that matters. Not the riches of silver or gold.. It is the riches of crowns of Glory that make us rich. She is being crowned right now with many a crowns… “We need to BE a Blessing, to Get a Blessing.”
I thought I would visit her often in the nursing home so she wouldn’t be alone… for her own good, but it was for MY own good now that I look back at all the times we spent together..
she was never alone, she truly had Jesus in her heart & that is what attracted us to her.
If a stranger comes knocking at your door, in the middle of the night, and you are alone with NO protection, are you going to let him in??? I think it is safe to say.. probably not!!! Well, there is
going to come a day when you are going to be knocking at the door of heaven …
IS God going to know you??? Did you get to know HIM here on earth??? Don’t let it be too late …
I promised my Gramma I will be with her again…

B*asic *Instructions B*efore *Leaving E*arth…Learn it… love it.. but most of all *LIVE IT.
My Gramma use to say, “What good is knowing the Bible if you aren’t gonna live it?”. She lived it!
I also remember her saying “My legs… they won’t go…” Well for someone who’s legs wouldn’t go,
she won the race… She finally made it to the finish line!!
Gram knew her purpose on earth was to be a servant of God… Well done Gram!!

Do you know your purpose?? It is basicly simple…

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which
I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20 (KJV)

THAT, MY FRIEND, IS LIVING THE BIBLE.
IT IS OUR INSTRUCTIONS
